July 2025 Letter From the Editor
As I write this, I’m on the road, traveling to meet more of the amazing people who make up our large and vibrant pecan community. This week finds me nestled along the banks of the mighty Mississippi, and I have to say, I’ve been in awe.
Driving from Baton Rouge to Natchez, I couldn’t help but smile as the peaks of pecan trees waved at me from the incredibly tall and lush growth that hugged the roadside. The moment I crossed into Ferriday Louisiana, it was as if the pecan trees came out in full force. Lining the roads, gracing front yards, and standing tall beside grand old homes. It’s a beautiful sight, and one that speaks to the deep roots and rich tradition of pecan growing in this region. I’m impressed!
One thing is for sure, summer is heating up, and while it’s still early, growers are keeping a close eye on how the season unfolds. More than anything, I want to hear from you.
How are your trees doing? Have you seen any signs of pests or disease? Are you experimenting with anything new this season?
Drop us a line and let us know what’s happening in your orchard, your backyard, or your corner of the pecan world. We love hearing your stories, and we learn from each one.
Wherever this letter finds you, whether you’re under the deep green of Georgia groves, among the sun-drenched fields of New Mexico, or tending trees in the vibrant orchards of Argentina and across South America, I wish you a healthy, hopeful season ahead.
Until next time, stay cool!
Best Wishes,
