The Annual Arizona Pecan Growers Association Conference and Trade Show in Tucson saw strong attendance and featured a range of educational presentations, vendor demonstrations, and networking opportunities for those involved in the pecan industry. Attendees engaged with experts and researchers discussing current trends, pest management, climate impacts, water use, and international production outlooks.

The event began on Thursday evening (Aug 21st) with a welcome reception and trade show, providing attendees an opportunity to network and connect with vendors in a relaxed setting. On Friday, the day started with a sponsored breakfast followed by a series of morning presentations, including updates on national pecan marketing efforts, pest control strategies, and research into the pecan nut casebearer in Arizona. Midday sessions explored the economic benefits of on-farm practices, Mexico’s pecan production outlook, and the role of climate data in agricultural planning. After a sponsored lunch, the afternoon sessions focused on water management, showcasing research on water balance in orchards, the integration of satellite and ground-based technologies for irrigation, and broader water policy issues in Arizona. Door prizes were given out throughout the day, and the event concluded with the association’s annual business meeting for voting members.
