Hitching Our Wagon to Pecans
Keo’s Bold Claim as the Pecan Capital of Arkansas

Sure, we’ve got pies—Charlotte’s classic pecan pie and her now-famous Governor’s Pie, a chocolate bourbon pecan creation chosen for Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ inaugural ball. Our vision is bigger. We know that if we want pecans to help revitalize Keo, we need more than a once-a-year spotlight. We’re working toward a future where pecans are in the mouths and minds of folks year-round—through culinary innovation, value-added products, educational experiences, and yes, maybe even a Center of Excellence for Pecans in partnership with higher ed institutions.
If you visit Keo, you’ll see our water tower—freshly painted with a pecan nestled right in the “O” of KEO. It’s more than a design. It’s a declaration. We’re planting our future in something deeply rooted, both figuratively and literally. That was a homegrown vision: a symbol of who we are and what we’re building toward.
Small towns across the South are looking for their next chapter. For Keo, it starts with what’s already here: orchards, history, hospitality, and a nut that can carry a community. We believe pecans are more than a crop—they’re our story. And we’re just getting started.
So here we are, hitching our wagon to the humble pecan. Come see us sometime. We’ll make you feel right at home—and if you’re lucky, we might just have a slice of Charlotte’s pie left to share!
