Photo Contest Winner
Dear Readers,
I am excited to announce the winner of our Annual Harvest Photo Contest: “A still morning during a busy season” by Jill Montz. Congratulations, Jill, and thank you for sharing your beautiful photo with us. Readers can find the winning image featured on our cover.
This year, we received entries from all over the world, with so many folks offering a small glimpse into the beauty surrounding their lives and pecan operations. Each finalist received an incredible amount of support from our voters on Facebook and Instagram, and every photo stood out as a unique portrait of the pecan industry.
I also want to recognize our other finalists. Danny Marquez earned second place with his photo “Frosty Pecans,” taken at Ivey Farms in Tornillo, Texas. We also received outstanding entries from Benjamin Matthews, Lyndsey Hall, Sofia Arri Gonzalo, Holly Matthews, and many others.
Every photo submitted was truly cover‑worthy. You can find the finalists’ images and additional entries on page 38. We’ll also be sharing all submissions on our website, Facebook, and Instagram, so stay tuned.
Congratulations again to Jill, and thank you to everyone who sent in a photo. It’s always a joy to see the moments you capture in your orchards and communities. As always, you—our readers—are the heart of this magazine. We look forward to what’s ahead and will see you in the fall for another chance to be featured on our cover.
Warmest Wishes,
Sarah Dieringer
