National Pecan Shellers Association Transitions to New Management in Summer 2024

The National Pecan Shellers Association announces that it will change management from Kellen to the Texas Pecan Growers Association (TPGA) this summer

“NPSA’s current management company, Kellen, has served us well over the past 20+ years, but increasingly, the membership felt we should explore our options,” says NPSA President Alex Willson. “After much behind-the-scenes work, the Committee recommended and the Board approved the change of management from Kellen to the Texas Pecan Growers Association.”

This decision follows a request for proposal (RFP) of the Association’s management that was conducted by a committee formed after the 2023 NPSA Annual Meeting.

“We believe that the Texas Pecan Growers Association will streamline the mission of the NPSA in an environment where many of its previous functions are now handled by other organizations such as the American Pecan Council and American Pecan Promotion Board,” Willson adds. “We believe that there is great value in an association catering to those companies focused on shelling pecans and aim to increase the value our membership receives for its dues. Additionally, we expect communication to be more pertinent and timely.”

The transition to TPGA will officially occur on July 1, 2024. The Annual Shellers Meeting will still take place in September, with the TPGA team leading the organization and management of the conference. The NPSA will share more meeting details as soon as they are available. For more information about the NPSA, please visit
