Letter from the Editor: October 2025 – Photo Contest Returns

Our Annual Pecan South Photo Contest is back!

Dearest Readers,

Harvest is bustling and as busy as ever. Growers in some areas of Texas began harvesting in early September and each day more producers across the U.S. and Mexico begin shaking trees and collecting the new crop.

During this time, Pecan South is here to support you. Our office is always available to provide resources or answer your questions. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

This year, to bring a little fun to the 2025 harvest, we are bringing back our annual Harvest Photo Contest! We invite you to send photos of your orchard, harvest, or other cover-worthy events.

Have you photographed any stunning moments in your orchard? Enter that photo in the contest, and your photo could grace the cover of our February 2026 issue.

Follow these guidelines to enter your photo in the contest:

  • Email your photo(s) to pecansouth@tpga.org by Jan. 10, 2026.
  • Photo must be large enough for print—at least 615×500 pixels or 8.5×10 inches. (Most photos taken on a smartphone meet this size requirement.)
  • The email should include a caption for the picture, the photographer’s name, and contact information for the person submitting the photo.

The most essential contest guideline? Have fun in the orchard!
