NCPGA 2023 Annual Meeting

The North Carolina Pecan Growers held their 29th annual meeting on Feb. 18, 2023, in Greenville, North Carolina. Approximately 85 participants learned about low-input pecan production, farm succession, legislative issue, orchard establishment tips, and more. Speakers included Dr. Lenny Wells (UGA Pecan Specialist), Dr. Mike Parker (NCSU Horticulture), the American Pecan Council, Debbie Hamrick (NC Farm Bureau), and many others.

After a delicious lunch from Parker’s BBQ, participants traveled to a local orchard, Swift Creek Harvest, to learn about pruning, spacing, and more management techniques. NCPGA will make all presentations available on its website.
