APC Membership Election Begins, Here’s How to Cast Your Vote

Pecan industry members recently nominated eligible candidates for membership on the American Pecan Council (Council) for the 2020-2024 term of office. The voting period for elections is from April 15 through May 15. The Council will mail an election ballot to all industry members who are on record with the Council within the respective regions. Specific information regarding nominations, voting, and elections can be found within the Federal marketing order under §986.46 Council nominations and voting.

Grower Nominations: To vote for a Grower nominee in the region in which you are located, you must have a proprietary interest in 30 acres or more of pecans or produce an annual average of at least 50,000 pounds of inshell pecans. You can only vote for a Grower from the region in which you also predominately grow pecans. If you have received a ballot for a region that is not the region in which you produce pecans, please contact the APC office and staff will email you the appropriate ballot.

Sheller Nominations: To vote for a Sheller in the region in which you are located, you must shell more than 1,000,000 pounds of pecans during the previous year. You can only vote fora Sheller from the region in which you predominately shell pecans. If you have received a ballot for a region that is not the region in which you shell pecans, please contact the APC office and staff will email you the appropriate ballot.

Please read the voting directions carefully and submit your completed and signed ballot in the enclosed envelope. To be valid, the ballot must be signed and postmarked, or delivered to the mailing address below by May 15, 2020. After the closing of the voting period, elections ballots will be opened and counted by USDA. Please mail ALL ballots to the address below.
