APC Representatives Await Your Vote

Fort Worth, TX—The American Pecan Council (APC) is conducting its election of pecan growers and shellers to serve as members and alternates for a four-year term of office beginning on October 1, 2024. Seats are currently open for five growers, three shellers, one accumulator, and one public member, as well as their respective alternate seats.

Pecan growers and shellers recently had the opportunity to nominate eligible candidates for membership on the American Pecan Council (Council) for the 2024-2028 term of office. Growers and shellers are now being requested to vote for the candidates of their choice. Ballots indicating the nominees for each of the member seats, along with voting instructions, are mailed to all growers and shellers on record with APC within the respective regions.

Please read the voting directions carefully and mail your completed and signed ballot to 3880 Hulen St., Suite 650, Fort Worth, TX 76107 or email to forms@americanpecan.com. To be valid, the ballot must be signed and postmarked or delivered by June 15, 2024.

Voting Period: May 1, 2024, through June 15, 2024.

Voter Eligibility – Grower

Only growers, as defined in Section 986.16 of Marketing Order No. 986 shall participate in the election of nominees for selection as grower members and alternate grower members of the Council. No grower shall participate in the election of Council nominees in more than one region. If a grower commercially produces pecans in more than one region, the grower must vote in the region in which he or she has the highest volume of production.

Voter Eligibility – Sheller

Only shellers, as defined in Section 986.35 of Marketing Order No. 986 shall participate in the election of nominees for selection as sheller members and alternate sheller members of the Council. No sheller shall participate in the election of Council nominees in more than one region. If a sheller commercially produces pecans in more than one region, the sheller must vote in the region in which he or she shelled the largest volume in the preceding fiscal year.
