Native Pecan Harvest Field Day, Oct. 13 at Flying G Ranch

Interested in learning more about native pecan production and harvest? Join us for a late afternoon/evening field day under the trees. This family-friendly event is ideal for learning more about pecan production, asking questions, seeing harvest in action, and networking with other growers.

The Native Pecan Harvest Field Day will take place on Oct. 13, 2022, at Flying G Ranch, 8102 E 550 Rd, Claremore, Oklahoma. Check-in will begin at 2:30 p.m., and the Program starts at 3 p.m.

  • Harvest Demonstration
  • Checking Pecan Moisture
  • Drying Methods
  • Prolonged Drought Stress Effects
  • Wildlife Depredation
  • Pecan Leasing
  • Oklahoma Food Freedom Act
  • Updates on the 2022 Season, including insect & disease observations

The event is open to anyone interested in learning about native pecan harvest or production. There is no charge to attend, but registration is needed to be able to plan for dinner.

The Spradling family, Oklahoma State University Pecan Management, and the Oklahoma Pecan Growers Association welcome anyone interested.

Please bring a lawn chair and plan to stay for dinner in the pecan grove.
